Naturally Healthy
This section includes herbs, essential oils, homeopathic remedies, nutritional supplements and common everyday items. You can find these things in natural health food stores, pharmacies and large supermarkets. You need to store most of these finished recipes in a cool, dark, dry cabinet or closet.

Here is my shopping list or things that I keep in my pantry at all times as a basic medicine chest. The smell of herbs makes my kitchen just smell like “home” and health anyway!

Arnica- You can get this already as a gel or cream for muscle aches and bruises.

Calendula- This comes in a gel or cream as well for burns, cuts, scrapes and insect bites.

Chamomile-I take this right out of my garden, but you can buy it as dried flowers for stress and stomach upsets, make sure that it’s clean and if you buy it, that it’s prepared for consumption…sometimes it’s better to buy this as a tea!

Echinacea-This one I grow in my garden too, but you may want to buy this in a tea as well or in a preparation you get in a health food store for cold, flu, cuts, infections and scrapes.

Elderberry-as an extract, you can buy this at a health food store for cold and flu.

Epsom salts-I buy this by the bulk. not only do you use this for sore muscles but you can make some wonderful bath salts for relieving tension and relaxing! Make some as gifts!

Eucalyptus-you get this as an essential oil and make preparations for congestion and sore muscles.

Ginger – you can buy this in the produce aile. My grandmother used this on my for colds, repriatory congestion, nausea and stomach upsets. She would grate the fresh ginger and prepare it as a tea! I use it today for not only tea, but I make ointments and salves as well.

Lavender-this you can buy as an essential oil. I grow this in abundance in my garden and make my own oils for stress, insomnia, headaches and for fragrance around the house!

Sea Salt- you can get this a the grocery store, it has minerals in it and you can buy just sea salt that has been refined, or you can get the real deal, which I like better! This is great for sore throats, gargles and for the bath!

Tea Tree-this comes as an essential oil for skin infections and insect bites. I make a balm out of this and use it anywhere from chapped lips to burns!

Valerian-this is an extract. I make my own and use it for mild pain and insomnia…this is also used for nasal congestion as well.
